Vijayawada, Dec 24, 2025 – Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu delivered a keynote on quantum technologies, formally inaugurating the world's largest quantum skilling programme through partnerships with WISER and Qubitech. This initiative builds a comprehensive ecosystem linking education, industry, and manufacturing to transform Andhra Pradesh into Amaravati Quantum Valley, the next anchor for the global knowledge economy after Silicon Valley.
Naidu's vision echoes his 25-year-old IT blueprint, positioning quantum as the successor to IT and AI with breakthroughs in computing speed for energy, medicine, and agriculture. He urged youth to embrace "one quantum professional per family," highlighting applications from research to quantum computer production starting within two years. The programme's rapid uptake—50,000 registrations in 10 days, 51% women—signals strong momentum, attended by experts from IIT Madras, IIT Tirupati, and India's Department of Science and Technology.
To spur excellence, Naidu reaffirmed a ₹100 crore award for Andhra Pradesh's first Nobel Prize winner in quantum science, part of a broader push including school-level awareness, curricula by January 2026, and co-development of neural atom, trapped ion, photonic, and topological quantum computers. IBM's 156-qubit system, L&T infrastructure, and TCS services will bolster the hub, aiming for a full manufacturing supply chain.
