China Showcases Quantum Breakthroughs at 2025 Quantum Technology and Industry Conference in Hefei

The Quantum Technology and Industry Conference 2025, held in Hefei, Anhui Province, spotlighted China’s rapid progress in quantum technologies and their real-world applications. The event, marking its fifth year, expanded its exhibition area to 10,000 square meters, presenting over 311 cutting-edge exhibits from industry, academia, and research partners. A key highlight was the alliance fostered between these sectors to accelerate the growth and implementation of quantum solutions nationwide.
This year, breakthrough achievements in superconducting quantum computing and neutral atom quantum computing were unveiled, demonstrating advances that reach international standards. The conference also emphasized real-world applications of quantum-secured communications, with demonstrations of encrypted intercom systems and quantum-supported office tools, such as secure digital seals and protected networks for enterprise communications.
Quantum technologies showcased at the event also included precision measurement tools, quantum-enhanced medical equipment, secure automotive communications using Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), and smart charging infrastructure for new energy vehicles. These advancements show quantum technology’s growing impact on industries from healthcare to transportation and information security.
Anhui Province, recognized as a national leader in quantum development, aims to see quantum innovations applied in at least 3,000 scenarios by 2030, supported by robust government backing and industry incubators. The conference concluded with optimism about China’s position at the forefront of global quantum innovation, emphasizing that quantum technology is rapidly transitioning from research labs to everyday life and industrial use.
