Niccolo De Masi, the chairman and CEO of IonQ, gave an interview with CNBC Television discussing recent achievements and outlook in quantum computing. De Masi reported a 37% revenue beat for Q3, raising annual guidance to $110 million, and highlighted IonQ's significant capital raises totaling $3.5 billion this year, $2 billion of which occurred in the last six weeks. IonQ has achieved 99.99% fidelity, marking progress toward a fault-tolerant quantum machine. The company claims leadership not only in quantum computing but also in quantum networking and sensing, delivering complete solutions across multiple domains from land and ocean to space.
IonQ recently acquired Skylum, furthering its strategic investments in quantum networking, particularly quantum key distribution via ground and satellite networks. Notable initiatives include quantum network launches in Geneva (in partnership with Rolex), Chattanooga, and the University of Chicago, solidifying IonQ's position as a market and commercialization leader within the quantum ecosystem. De Masi expressed confidence in the sector’s future, noting IonQ’s continued revenue growth and its pivotal role in bringing quantum technologies from the lab into real-world corporate applications.
