Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled an ambitious technology roadmap in a special “Quantum Talk” session, presenting quantum and deep-tech as the next big leap for the state’s development. Speaking to a large audience of tech students in an online interactive format, he stressed that India has a “rare chance” to enter early in quantum technologies and emerge as a global service and knowledge hub.
Naidu announced plans to develop Amaravati as “Amaravati Quantum Valley,” a dedicated cluster for cutting-edge research, along with a Green Hydrogen Valley to accelerate clean-energy innovation and a quantum computing center that will support sectors such as education, healthcare, and drug discovery. Drawing comparisons to earlier waves of IT and Genome Valley development, he argued that the global focus is now shifting to quantum, and Andhra Pradesh must seize this momentum.
As part of the larger innovation blueprint, the Chief Minister highlighted an upcoming Space City in Tirupati and an attractive Andhra Pradesh Space Policy designed to attract investment and high-end research. He underlined that major technology companies including IBM, TCS, and L&T have already come forward to participate in building a comprehensive quantum ecosystem in the state.
Revisiting his earlier vision of encouraging every family to produce at least one IT professional, Naidu positioned today’s tech students as central to the quantum revolution, urging them to skill up in emerging technologies. He linked these initiatives to broader governance goals, citing projects like Sanjeevani for doorstep medical care as examples of how technology can be used to improve people’s lives when aligned with long-term planning.
