SkyWater Technology and QuamCore have joined forces in a strategic collaboration to accelerate the development of quantum computing technology. Announced on November 6, 2025, this partnership aims to co-engineer superconducting devices using SkyWater’s advanced fabrication capabilities and QuamCore’s innovative SFQ-based control architecture. The joint project will focus on optimizing superconducting processes to enable high-performance, cryogenic control circuits crucial for large-scale quantum systems.
This alliance is set to drastically reduce wiring complexity and power dissipation key bottlenecks in quantum system scaling by using integrated SFQ control circuits that operate at temperatures as low as 10 millikelvin. The collaboration is expected to deliver significant milestones over the next 12 to 18 months, including the fabrication and testing of cryogenic control chips, which could pave the way for more practical quantum computers with millions of qubits.
SkyWater’s CEO, Thomas Sonderman, emphasized the importance of U.S. manufacturing in enabling breakthrough quantum technologies. Meanwhile, QuamCore’s CEO, Alon Cohen, highlighted the role of ultra-low-power digital logic integrated with qubits as a crucial step toward making large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum systems a reality.
